From Zero to Hero – and Back Again

In an instant, life can change. We often feel it most intensely in the encounter with love. My heart was ripped out, thrown back, and now I’m standing here picking up the pieces. It hurts like hell. But through it all, I stayed true to myself. I was the best version of myself.

I may be shattered and a little broken, but I’m grateful. Grateful for the moments the universe sent, filled with love. Because even though it ended, I’ve learned so much. And I’m so ready to let my heart be swept away again. Ready to share life with someone, to share ups and downs, dreams and hopes.

For the past four years, I’ve been working to get back to life. Back to the surface. Back to feeling the air in my lungs after being at rock bottom. I have lifted myself up through my routines, healthy eating, exercise, meditation, and my daily mantras. To some, my daily habits may seem overwhelming, a huge chore, or even a waste of time to spend so many hours on—but to me, they are everything. They keep me balanced, help me grow, help me enjoy life, and allow me to be present in all its aspects.

Every day, I make an effort to be 100% true to myself. And every day brings new challenges, new ways of looking at the world. But I love to look at the gifts the universe sends—because they are there if you choose to see them. And suddenly, before you even know it, you are back as the HERO again.
